About Jon Smart

Jon is a Texas native currently living in Jacksonville, FL and a college graduate with a bachelor\'s degree in physics and a master\'s degree in esports management. In his free time, Jon enjoys playing video games, cooking, reading, going on morning jogs, and building plastic model kits. Before coming to SoftPro, Jon worked in esports as a broadcast producer and replay operator on projects like VALORANT Ascension. Jon also organized and oversaw the Fall 2024 SCAC Esports Showdown, a semester-long tournament where 9 universities competed in 4 different titles.At Southwestern University, his primary focus was the growth of his school’s esports team: the Golden Pirates, where Jon put on gaming events such as tournaments and practices. His crowning accomplishments in the Golden Pirates was helping secure their new home base and practice room.Jonathan has over ten years in leadership experience in and outside the classroom. Some of his positions involve being a teaching assistant for an introductory astronomy class while also being a lecture note editor for introductory physics. He also has more than five years of experience as a tutor specializing in mathematics and physics. On his study abroad venture in London, UK, Jonathan worked as a teaching assistant and student teacher at Ark Greenwich Free School.
