ABOUT BEN GOLESTANI

Dr. Golestani, a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, serves as the Chief Engineer at Intertek-PSI, specializing nationally as a Pavement Engineering Specialist. With over 19 years of combined industrial and academic engineering practice, Dr. Golestani possesses a robust background in geotechnical and pavement engineering.His expertise spans diverse projects, including the design and analysis of complex field and laboratory investigations for pavement design, as well as evaluations for state and interstate highways. Furthermore, he has extensive experience conducting geotechnical subsurface evaluations across various public and private sectors, encompassing industrial, commercial, and governmental facilities. This work involves the analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations, settlement modeling, and slope stability analysis.Dr. Golestani has played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive specification for Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) pavement recycling in the State of Florida. He has successfully completed numerous FDR mix designs for state and interstate highways and roadways. Additionally, he is a board-approved certified provider of pavement engineering training courses.A notable achievement includes the invention of \"Nanocomposite Modified Asphalt,\" introducing a self-healing asphalt mixture that demonstrates significantly higher performance life compared to regular hot mix asphalt.In the academic realm, Dr. Golestani has a strong background in pavement materials and design. He has published extensively in prominent pavement engineering journals and has delivered technical presentations at numerous national and international conferences. Currently serving as an editor and reviewer for several top-ranked journals, Dr. Golestani is intimately familiar with state-of-the-art pavement materials and design. He has also served as an instructor for graduate-level courses at the University of Central Florida.
