About Gokul Palanisamy
I’ve always been someone who loves connecting the dots—whether it’s bridging technology and business or aligning innovation with sustainability. My journey started at Anna University, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Computer Science, before taking a leap into Boston University for a Master’s in Computer Information Systems. Along the way, I also dived into the business world at Dartmouth’s Tuck School, because why not throw in some corporate finance and strategy to keep things interesting?Today, I’m a consultant at Westernacher Consulting, where I work on sustainability-driven digital transformations. That means combining AI and SAP technologies to help businesses not just grow but grow responsibly. Whether it’s guiding a company to track and improve their environmental impact or building smarter systems for better decision-making, I enjoy solving these challenges.Before this, I wore a few different hats. At JP Morgan, I helped streamline data strategies during a major M&A (think lots of charts and coffee). At Commonwealth Bank of Australia, I worked on their first-ever crypto roadmap, which was an adventure in itself. And at Tata Consultancy Services, I led a team to predict customer churn in insurance—turns out, data tells some fascinating stories.Outside of work, I run “Gokul’s Learning Lab,” a newsletter where I share thoughts on AI and sustainability with curious readers. I’ve also had some fun with hackathons (winning a few, including at MIT) and represented Boston University at the Quadball World Cup. Yep, I’m still trying to explain Quadball to my parents.At the heart of it all, I believe technology should do more than just solve problems—it should create impact.
