Graylog is an excellent software that I have used in many projects over the past decade. Being involved in the development of its new cloud service is quite gratifying. This project allows me to explore many new areas due to the extensive tech stack we are using. Managing our entire infrastructure as IaC primarily required intensive standardization and use of Terraform. To maintain the same approach within Kubernetes, we utilized FluxCD and Helm. By creating our own Helm charts, we not only ensured deployment standardization but also facilitated the onboarding of other teams into our projects with ease.In this process:• I managed the entire infrastructure using the IaC approach with Terraform and contributed to the development of modules.• I was involved in developing Ansible playbooks, ensuring controlled and reliable installations and upgrades.• For debugging purposes, I developed a secure and capable debugger that serves as a gateway to the highly isolated infrastructure.• Since we couldn\'t use the traditional autoscalers of Kubernetes for Graylog due to Graylog\'s unique requirements, I designed a custom autoscaler.• I planned the migration process of the old infrastructure to the new Kubernetes platform, developed the necessary software, and contributed to a zero-downtime migration process with automated procedures.
