ABOUT JOE CALLAHAN

Hey there! I’m a full stack software engineer with a lengthy background in multiple disciplines of business (tech, finance, accounting, marketing, and more). I recently completed an intensive 12-week program at Fullstack Academy, where I built full stack web applications using JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL. Through hands-on projects, I learned how to build scalable apps, design secure APIs (with JWT and bcrypt), and work collaboratively in Agile teams.Before making the jump into software development, I worked at PwC, where I created a custom Excel tool in VBA that turned thick and complex internal data into something clean and client-ready—for one of our biggest clients, Google. This series of projects allowed the firm to negotiate a new, longer, significantly higher-paying contract and streamlined the production of tax returns and consulting services they provided. My project allowed qualitative data to become quantitative - which ultimately led to being able to bill for more services and track progress at a highly detailed level. The end result was a contract that nearly doubled in size and productivity increased by over 20%. That experience helped enforce how I have always approached problem-solving: find the need, build the solution, and keep improving it.I’m known as someone who picks things up quickly, heavily contributes to and enriches team dynamics, and leads with confidence.
