ABOUT GLORIA ASARE

As a Director in PwC Canada\'s Risk Modelling Services (RMS) practice, I lead a team of P&C actuaries as we deliver unique, quality solutions to our clients\' complex needs across a range of product offerings; from core audit and appointed actuary engagements, to pricing, climate, captive, and AI engagements. I serve on RMS\'s leadership team that is responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of our team of close to 100 actuaries and accountants.Prior to joining PwC, as the Head of Actuarial Pricing in Canada at AXA XL, I performed the unique dual role of serving as a member of the Canadian Leadership Team (CLT) and also heading up the actuarial pricing team. As a CLT member I collaborated across functions with other leaders to develop impactful ways to steer, encourage, and develop our Canadian colleagues. On the pricing side, I provided support for traditional and specialty lines of business across the entire Canada region. These lines of business include Property, General Liability, Auto, Construction, and Professional among others. Though currently based in Toronto, Canada, I have gathered ample experience in commercial property and casualty insurance in the North America region. During my time in the US I held multiple roles in both the Pennsylvania and New York offices. My work there entailed providing actuarial pricing, modeling and reporting support to various business units including Construction, Surety, Surplus Lines, Environmental, Global Risk Management and Upper Middle Market.Prior to joining AXA XL, I was an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School. In May 2010 I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a concentration in Actuarial Science and a Minor in African Studies.
