I’m coordinating Career Technical Education grant efforts in Marin County to increase student access to career pathways. These grant and private donor funded projects provide students opportunities to learn academic and technical skills within pathway industries leading to high-paying livable jobs. In addition, students explore career options, take early college credit courses, access internships, and can earn industry level certifications and training, while in high school. The courses are hands-on and project-based resulting in greater student engagement, attendance, and college going rates.
