This was a new role created at Go Outdoors for a motivated individual to orchestrate a new and clear process system to the Own Label sector of this fast-growing retailer. The initial emphasis falling into two categories, firstly to improve product quality which had relatively high returns rates, then secondly to develop the brands and product to match if not beat the main competitors in the market. Whilst these remain the focus of the task it is also a very varied appointment with all aspects of the Product Life cycle being undertaken.• Own Label Brand Evolution – I steered the transformation of the Outdoor Living Private Label ranges at Go Outdoors, remodelling and aligning the structure, ensuring the DNA is clear, and the costing is structured. If there were gaps in the Own Brands, I developed new brands and products to win market share.• Supplier Compliance - Factory and Product compliance became a major project due to the lack of previous management, a new team was created by me to bring Go Outdoors compliance into a position which is now aligned with the robust JD Sports / Pentland Group PLC• OEX: Retail Week Best Own Label 2017 – Created by me in 2013 this brand has become a significant player in the technical outdoor market, offering affordable quality outdoor kit, an area where the customer is highly demanding. Present turnover is £20 million.
