In the health care arena, my experience includes disputes involving managed care, contracting, management services, fraud and abuse, false claims, racketeering, class action, ERISA, business relations, reimbursement, trade secrets, misappropriation, real estate, employment, and discrimination. I have successfully represented many prominent hospitals and health systems, large medical groups, independent physician associations, management services organizations, and other health care providers and entities in dealings with health plans, insurance companies, employees, qui tam relators, self-funded plans, and the government. I have resolved major disputes with health care payors and negotiated major contracts with them. I have litigated, arbitrated and resolved a wide range of cases for health care organizations. My experience includes disputes involving managed care, contracting, management services, real estate, fraud and abuse, business relations, reimbursement, trade secrets, misappropriation, employment, and discrimination. I also have been a court-designated expert witness.I have successfully represented many prominent hospitals and health systems, medical groups, independent physician associations, management services organizations, and other health care providers and entities in dealings with health plans, insurance companies, employees, qui tam relators, ERISA plans, self-funded plans, and the government. My clients on the plaintiffs’ side have recovered combined awards and settlements totaling well over several hundred million dollars; and have successfully avoided alleged financial exposures of like amounts on the defendants’ side.I strive to help my clients seek creative solutions, think outside-the-box, find unique approaches to successfully navigating through difficult matters, and employing the methods most likely to meet the business as well as litigation goals. It is important to recognize that some situations require a litigated or arbitrated outcome, while others are best resolved through new contractual arrangements, depending on the circumstances.
