About Glenn Morgan
Mr. Morgan\'s service for the San Diego Unified School District began in 2002 as an English Language Arts teacher at Alternative Learning for Behavior and Attitude (ALBA) Community Day School, a facility for students expelled from SDUSD under the district\'s zero-tolerance policy. In 2003, Morgan was selected as ALBA Teacher-of-the-Year.Morgan served as Lead ELA Teacher and then ELA Resource Teacher for ALBA until he was selected as one of the founding faculty at the rebuilt Lincoln High School. With the re-opening of Lincoln, Morgan was appointed English Department Chair as well as ELA Resource Teacher for all four centers in 2007. In 2011, he pivoted roles to Instructional Coach as well as the Theater Director, collaborating with The Old Globe Theater and M\'olelo to bring students to theater productions, as well as helping to design an Introduction to the Arts wheel course unique to San Diego Unified.In 2012 Morgan was appointed AP Literature Instructor at La Jolla High School and then as a Reader for the AP Literature Exam by ETS. Since 2009, he has consulted on behalf of the College Board for both AP Literature and pre-AP English Language Arts. Mr. Morgan has worked with over 100 different districts and schools across the country. In 2015, he was selected for the California Instructional Leadership Corps. Mr. Morgan is a Stanford University Teacher of Recognition and has written numerous award-winning essays in the areas of ELA instruction, ed policy, and school culture. He is has been a member of the AP Literature Standards Setting committee as well as Genre Lead for AI development in automatic essay scoring and feedback in collaboration with Turnitin.com. In 2021, The College Board endorsed Mr. Morgan as a National Consultant for the AP Literature courseGlenn Irvine Morgan received his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a major in English and honors in the Playwright Program. Morgan earned his CA CLAD Single Subject Teaching Credential, English (Clear) at San Diego State University in 2002, and received his MA in British Literature at SDSU in 2005. In 2017 he was renewed as a National Board Certified Teacher in AYA English Language Arts. Mr. Morgan earned PK-12 Administrator Credential through the SDSU/SDUSD program in 2018.
