About Glenn McRae

Working in Vermont for four decades to build networks of support for sustaining and strengthening organizational capacity in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. In addition to teaching public administration and anthropology I led state policy initiatives with an emphasis on engaging wider circles of stakeholders to responsibly participate in formulating key recommendations on issues such as health care, economic development, building a green economy, and age-friendly communities. Over this time I provided leadership for local, state-wide and international organizations advancing local food systems, socially responsible business development, recycling, safe waste management, and social enterprise initiatives. At the University of Vermont I built a regional center advancing workforce development in the transportation disciplines, emphasizing careers in green transportation, and supported the development of national networks advancing innovative approaches to transportation workforce development. I served as the co-chair of the Transportation Research Board\'s 2025 National Summit on the Future of the Transportation Workforce.
