Physician leader with 20+ years\' experience both practicing medicine and leading organizations, with a passion for creating and implementing strategies for people to thrive and live healthy lives. I am a visible and collaborative leader who enables top-quality patient care and outstanding financial results in complex healthcare systems. My teams create operational structures and protocols that reduce costs, optimize service offerings and integrate system resources. As a strategic, visionary leader, I see the big picture, yet convert strategy into concrete operating results in very competitive markets. A proven business developer and trusted advisor that has held Board Director, CEO and Chief Medical Officer roles. I have built productive, collaborative relationships with physicians, system executives, and the community while growing service line volumes and improving service, teamwork, quality and financial metrics. Career Impacts: • Led organizations with $400 million P&L responsibilities for all operational and support functions including finance, revenue cycle, marketing, IT, HR, legal, risk management and provider recruitment, • Positioned organizations for award-winning performance – Health Quest Systems as a Health Grades’ Top 50 Hospital for three consecutive years, and as a USNWR Top Regional Hospital for 2018; St. Elizabeth Physicians as 2019 AMGA Acclaim Award, Most Wired Award and HFMA performance award winners; and Health Quest Medical Practice as IBM Watson Health 2019 Advantage Award winner for performance improvement in Population Health. • Advocated for innovative approaches, including leading implementation of Electronic Health Records (Epic, 4 times and Cerner, twice), artificial intelligence, email visits, electronic ICU, remote monitoring, and telemedicine. • Championed the expansion of service lines, adding surgical capabilities for cancer service lines, incorporating additional structural heart capabilities, and introducing enhanced neurosurgery into the Neuroscience service line. • Established Graduate Medical Education programs that provided residency programs in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, and Radiology. • Spearheaded strategic program growth initiatives and operational expense management tactics that increased system EBITDA, delivering an 11.7% average over four years.
