Together for Youth is one of NYS leading child welfare agencies. Founded in 1886 our focus of healing and strengthening children in a family setting and mission continues: to strengthen children and families so they can live safely, independently, and productively within their home communities. As Senior Director of Detention Services, I lead the strategic oversight of three juvenile detention facilities—one multijurisdictional secure and two non-secure—ensuring safe, trauma-informed environments that support youth rehabilitation and public safety. I directly supervise Facility Directors and oversee all aspects of operations, compliance, and infrastructure. Leadership & Oversight• Provide executive management of facility operations, staffing, and capital construction projects.• Cultivate high-performing teams through direct supervision and leadership development. Regulatory Compliance & Youth Wellbeing• Ensure adherence to NYS Commission of Correction (SCOC), PREA, and OCFS regulations for Secure and Specialized Secure Juvenile Detention.• Drive policy development and facility enhancements that promote safety, dignity, and positive youth outcomes. Fiscal & Operational Management Oversee fiscal systems including time and attendance, audits, and capital project planning.• Lead infrastructure improvements aligned with long-term strategic goals. Labor Relations & Accountability• Represent Together for Youth in labor-management negotiations and disciplinary review committees.• Lead triage and administrative leave determinations in response to staff misconduct investigations. Quality Assurance & Systems Improvement• Collaborate with agency QA teams to monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.• Champion data-informed decision-making to elevate care standards and operational efficiency.
