About Glenn Gunzelmann
I am a Principal Research Psychologist in the Air Force Research Laboratory\'s (AFRL’s) Human Performance Wing where I serve as the Modeling and Simulation Lead for the Warfighter Interactions and Readiness Division, including the Modeling and Simulation Integration Lab (MSIL). With support from AFRL and the Department of the Air Force’s (DAF) Chief Modeling and Simulation Office (CMSO), MSIL is speeding technology transition with virtual (human in the loop) experimentation and maturation in an ecosystem that connects new technologies directly to the DAF’s operational training and test infrastructure.My educational background is in cognitive science and computational cognitive modeling. I spent more than 15 years leading basic and applied research efforts to create computational theories and models for representing the impact of sleep loss, circadian rhythms, time on task, and workload on cognitive performance while leading increasingly broad research portfolios. My career has been driven by a passion for use-inspired basic research, which advances our basic understanding of human cognition and behavior in service of creating capabilities and technologies that have a real-world impact.
