In January 2015, I shared with many of you that I would be retiring from CohnReznick where I have had the pleasure of serving as the leader of that firm’s governance, risk and compliance practice. After a very short retirement - literally a 3-day weekend – most of which was spent reading articles about corporate governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, internal audit and control and cyber-sabotage, I came to the realization that among the activities I find most fulfilling is helping clients and business colleagues meet the challenges they face. After an assessment of the governance practices of several Florida firms, I joined Kaufman Rossin, one of the top regional CPA and advisory firms in the country and the leading professional resource in my new home base, South Florida. At Kaufman Rossin I am surrounded by a team of top-notch professionals who provide excellent audit, tax and advisory services, as you might expect at any CPA and Advisory firm. But this firm also offers a board range of expertise to help clients manage their enterprise risks and grasp opportunities to improve their performance. As you know, this integrated thrust of concurrently protecting and enhancing enterprise value has always been my sweet spot. This firm’s advisory practice is already well-known, and provides a well-rounded portfolio of services that I look forward to building upon. For example, in addition to safeguarding clients from enterprise risk, I can now continue to help companies identify improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve results.
