Responsibilities:• Ensuring the building meets all health & safety regulations and that proper procedures and training are in place for all users of the facilities.• Ensure employees and visitors have an optimum working environment which is both pleasant and productive.• Manage the operation of the security systems and services – including access control, CCTV, intercom and intruder alarm.• Manage the other services and contracts from catering through to the maintenance of the lifts and plant room.• Support the businesses in the arranging of special events.• Prepare and implement long-term plans for the facilities, including strategies for the procurement of contracted services.• Prepare the annual budget for the operation and maintenance of the facilities.• Ensure best practices are followed for efficiency and the reduction of costs.• Manage the development of tenders issued to external contractors and to thereafter supervise the successful delivery of the work.• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the facilities and to check that standards are being maintained.• Respond to incidents (such as failures in the supply of power, water, etc.) and to coordinate with the Head of Communications on keeping employees informed.• Ensure an equipment database is kept up to date for various reasons, including insurance.
