About Glen Mules

Completed my Ph.D. in Education at Walden University in 2014. I previously did my MSc in Computer Science in the University of Birmingham and my BSc in Mathematics at the University of Adelaide, South Australia.I am these days best characterized perhaps as a Data Scientist. But primarily an Instructor / Educator, involved with teaching, course development, and instructor enablement. Retired from IBM Analytics in 2015. Now an academic - Adjunct Professor at Iona College, New Rochelle, NY & an Instructor (online) with San Jose State University, San Jose, CA - but occasionally teach Workshops for IBM Skills Initiative (IBM Dubai) and Courses for IBM Global Training Partners (GTPs) in Big Data technologies and related.Certified IBM Data Architect - Big Data.Certified IBM Data Engineer - Big Data.Badges (Acclaim by Pearson):Big Data Engineer -Explorer Award for Professionals 2018Big Data Engineer - Mastery Award for Professionals 2018Big Data Engineer - Author Award for Professionals 2018Big Data Engineer - Instructor Award for Professionals 2018My teaching has been both Academic (San Jose State University, San Jose, CA & Iona College, New Rochelle, NY) for semester-long courses PLUS Corporate, generally 5-day workshops on-site. Workshops and Courses have also being taught using Content Management Systems (CMS) and related software such as Canvas, Blackboard, Panopto, and Camtasia.I have taught 5-day Corporate (and Academic) workshops in, among others, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Sydney, Santiago, Bogotá, Lima, Sao Paolo, Mexico City, Vancouver, Toronto, London, Paris, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Milan, Budapest, Cairo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Riyadh, Jeddah, Yerevan, Johannesburg, and Cape Town - as well as most major cities in the United States. The majority of these workshops were taught as a Senior Instructor and Principal Consultant with IBM Data Analytics Division (through 2015) and then later (2015+) as an external Consultant/Instructor teaching IBM courseware and other courses, often under direct engagement by IBM itself to run training courses.

    Occasionally teach a Big Data Technology workshop as part of IBM\'s Middle-East-Africa (MEA) University based out of Dubai, UAE and their new Skills Initiative. Currently these 5-day workshops are aimed exclusively at university professors and academic staff where the university has expressed an interest in teaching Big Data and related technologies to senior undergraduate and to graduate students as part of a Data Science curriculum.Locations where I most recently taught this 5-day Big Data Technology workshop: Riyadh, KSA (Mar 2017), Dubai, UAE (Jan 2017), and Johannesburg & Port Elizabeth, South Africa (May & Jul 2016). Generally I am only available to run these workshops during academic breaks and semester breaks in USA.
