ABOUT GLEN BURRIDGE

Glen draws on over 25 years of global experience as a geoscientist across an unusually wide range of subject areas, organisations, roles and geographies.Building on early experience as a front-line project geoscientist, he moved on to be a management advisor on some of the world\'s most challenging geoenergy projects and a European association leader.He has become a trusted voice on the strategic interplay of policy - technical - investment risks, especially as they relate to the huge societal change and opportunity provided by the energy transition.Within the technical risk realm, he advised a number of international operators of multi-$10Ms scale projects on best practice in risk assurance, workflows encompassing the latest and most effective technology, large-scale project governance and competency development.As a keynote speaker and workshop organiser, he has tackled topics as diverse as novel ways of viewing resource exploration risk and the future of geomechanics as a discipline, to the human factor in 3D earth modelling and the importance of intercultural competence in management. He is a regular contributor to high-level round-tables at industry conferences and think-tanks on geo-energy and resource topics.He is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) and Platinum member of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).Am an active private pilot flying both vintage and modern light aircraft and have contributed volunteer time to help address safety and sustainability issues within the community, specifically around controlled airspace infringement, writing a regular aviation risk management blog and Royal Aeronautical Society working groups.Any perspectives given are personal and not those of my employer or any other organisation I may be affiliated.
