ABOUT GLEN FOGERTY

I currently hold the positions of Vice Dean - Undergraduate Medical Education, Assistant Professor - Bioethics and Medical Humanism, Co-Block Director - Introduction to Medicine, and Director - MD/MBA at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. From a practice standpoint - I enjoy utilizing my entrepreneurial, strategic, analytic, and personal skills to build and shape higher education structures. From an academic standpoint - my research interests has focused on the study of institutions of higher learning and leadership analysis while I have taught graduate courses in higher education, medicine, diversity, student affairs, applied research, and leadership. Upon graduation from college I had a 15 year career in the hospitality industry working at Deer Valley Resort, Best Western International, and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. I joined academia in and during my time in higher education I have lived and studied abroad while opening campuses in Europe, Asia, and South America for Apollo International, held administrative roles in MBA admissions, development, and executive education within the W. P. Carey School of Business and a faculty position within the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University, and, prior to my current roles, held assistant dean positions at Arizona Summit Law School and Northwestern University. I earned a BS in Hospitality Administration, an MBA while living overseas opening new campuses for Apollo International, and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. These degrees have allowed me to be service-oriented, dedicated to a budget/bottom line, and connected to a field I truly enjoy studying and working in.
