ABOUT GLEN EVANS
Glen brings a unique perspective to both his personal endeavours and his professional career. Glen’s current professional roles include helping clients resolve complex legal disputes as a highly respected Mediator, Arbitrator, and sharing his knowledge and experience with others as a University Professor. In addition to these current roles, Glen’s prior experience includes advocating for clients as a trial lawyer, and nearly two decades spent in the film and television industry as a senior production executive overseeing the financing, production, and distribution of several multi-million dollar projects. Glen obtained his Juris Doctor through joint studies at the Peter A Allard School of Law (UBC), and the University of Houston Institute for Intellectual Property and Information Law. Glen also successfully completed the bar examinations in both the State of New York and the Province of British Columbia. Glen’s work as a trial lawyer spanned a wide range of practice areas including: • Family Law • Wills and Estate Litigation • Labour and Employment Disputes • Media and Entertainment Law • Intellectual Property • General Civil Litigation Glen’s work in the film and television industry, in both Vancouver and Los Angeles, lead to the production of several award winning documentary, feature film, and television productions, including a prestigious award at the Cannes Film Festival. In addition to his law degree, Glen also completed the Master of Fine Arts program in the Independent Motion Picture Producers’ Program at UCLA, and Glen also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Television Production at UBC. Glen’s current role as a mediator and arbitrator allows him to focus on his favourite personal and professional outcomes — fostering meaningful relationships, encouraging lasting settlements, and crafting creative solutions to a wide range of personal, professional, and legal challenges. Glen also derives tremendous personal satisfaction teaching several courses in the School of Legal Studies, School of Communication, and School of Motion Picture Arts at Capilano University. Glen’s has also taught at the University of British Columbia, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Vancouver Film School, and in the Entertainment Law Clinic at the University of Houston Law School. From time to time, Glen still scratches his creative itch by providing executive producer or producer consulting services to a select group of film and television projects.
