About Greg Spielman
I have spent two-thirds of my 35 years in IT as a Database Administrator in the Financial Services sector. I have been entrusted with database systems that contain enormous amounts of money, as well as information that is both extremely sensitive and critical to my various employers\' competitiveness. I have conducted myself at all times in ways that reward that trust, and I have continuously demonstrated myself to be a consummate professional whose ethical standards exceed anything expected of me.Additionally, I take pride in a defect rate that approaches zero. I do it without making myself an automaton in the process. I am always most energized when I am involved in activities from which I can feed my strong appetite for learning as well as to make a significant positive difference. One area of particular interest to me is resolving database performance issues. Nothing is more satisfying than working on SQL, index, or instance configuration tuning that optimizes a query from 15 minutes down to 15 seconds.The depth and breadth of my experience at two financial services giants (Travelers and Keycorp), in addition to short detours into Software-as-a-Service, IT consulting, secondary education, and software sales-not to mention my current role at an industry-leading manufacturer-makes me a valuable and sought after asset.
