ABOUT GIUSEPPE PERNAGALLO
My curriculum vitae and more information are available on my website: https://sites.google.com/view/giuseppepernagallo/homeI am currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Statistics \"Cognetti de Martiis\" at the University of Turin. I am also Adjunct Professor at ESCP Business School. I received my Ph.D. in Economics (curriculum Economics and Complexity) from Collegio Carlo Alberto and the University of Turin in 2023, successfully discussing a thesis entitled \"Knowledge in Markets with Imperfect Information.\"I firmly believe that an economist must handle both theory and data to formulate relevant research questions. My background is mainly in Information Economics, Economics of Knowledge, Finance (particularly Financial Econometrics) and Statistics. During my doctorate I also began to explore other areas where my skills were easily adaptable, such as Applied Econometrics, Computational Economics, Machine Learning, and the Economics of Science and Innovation. I am an experienced user of various software, and my favorite programming language is R (I am not a Python guy, although I know the language), in which I have extensive research and teaching experience at the university level.I received a B.Sc. in Economics and a M.Sc. in Corporate Finance from the University of Catania with highest honors. I worked as a junior tutor (in Economic Statistics) and as a senior tutor (in Economic Statistic and Data Analysis for Economics) at the Univeristy of Catania; I also have professional experience as an economist and statistician. My research interests are wide. They can be divided into the following main areas-Information Economics-Economics of Knowledge, Science, and Innovation-Macroeconomics and Finance-Econometrics, Statistics and Data Science.
