ABOUT GIUSEPPE FENZA

Giuseppe Fenza graduated and received a PhD degree in Computer Sciences, both from the University of Salerno, Italy, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. The research activity concerning Computational Intelligence methods to support semantic-enabled solutions and decision making. He has over 60 publications in Fuzzy Decision Making, Knowledge Extraction and Management, Situation and Context-Awareness, Semantic Information Retrieval, Service Oriented Architecture, and Ontology Learning, with over citations with an h-index of 18 in Scopus (and over 1500 citations with an h-index of 20 in Google Scholar). He used the results of the research works in several application domains, like Medical Diagnosis, Enterprise Knowledge Management, and Social Media Analytics. Since 2005, he collaborates in several research initiatives focusing on the objective of knowledge extraction from unstructured data sources and he acquired competencies in project management by collaborating with several Italian research centres. In 2017, he was a co-founder of a spin-off named Riatlas Srl, a company that operates in the field of e-health and deals with the definition of software solutions to support neurological rehabilitation for patients with brain damage (stroke) and/or neurodegenerative diseases (multiple sclerosis, Parkinson\'s, etc.). Since 2018, he is participating in research initiatives focused on the area of big data analysis and analytics applied to Industry 4.0 and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS): he is involved as a researcher in the project Leonardo 4.0, and as a scientific advisor in CPS4EU (CPS for EUrope). More recently, he is involved in Big Data Analytics concerning methods for automating Open Source Intelligence. He is currently an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Salerno. He is involved in several editorial activities and is on editorial boards of international journals and conferences.
