    Chief Technologist (Technology Program Manager) of the Mechanical Systems Division, Goddard’s largest engineering division (9 branches, 500+ employees), responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive technology development program for advanced spaceflight systems- Direct a ~$30M research and development portfolio, driving strategic investments in cutting-edge space technologies covering: advanced manufacturing, materials and processes (including non-destructive evaluation), metrology and augmented reality, mechanical engineering and analysis, mechatronics and robotics, thermal engineering, contamination control, integration and testing. Oversee design-for-excellence (DFx) initiatives (e.g, generative design and metamaterials), leading to substantial (10%-50%) reductions in mass, cost and time-to-market- Assess new technologies for feasibility studies and proposals aimed at increasing technology readiness levels. Oversee transition to market or infusion into space missions. Formulate systems technology policy and roadmapping with other divisions (position, navigation and timing (PNT), high-performance spaceflight computing, quantum, science)- Establish and manage critical partnerships with NASA centers, academia and industry to accelerate technology maturation and infusion. Oversee new business development initiatives, securing funding through winning proposals and advancing innovative solutions for current and future NASA missions- Strong understanding of U.S. government solicitations, requirements for proposal submissions and acquisition process.
