ABOUT GIULIANO LEONI

I am a Project Engineer with a high experience in revamping and retrofitting activities in the energy sector, mainly in automation systems for downstream and power generation industry. After completing my studies in Telecommunications Engineering, I obtained a Master in \"Hydrocarbon Refining\" with specialization in process automation, starting my experience in the field of industrial automation. I started my experience at the Eni refinery in Sannazzaro where I was involved in the development and maintenance of multivariable predictive controllers (MPCs). After joining Enel in 2009, I acquired extensive experience in the development of regulation systems for steam turbines, taking care, as Junior I&C Engineer, of most of the retrofit activities of these systems in all the Italian thermoelectric power plants of Enel group from 2009 to 2012. Since 2013 I have expanded my skills starting to follow, as Senior I&C Engineer, the revamping activities of other automation systems (BMS, ESD, main control system) acquiring in 2016 the coordination of the Automation team of technical support. Following the corporate reorganization in 2017, I moved to the I&C discipline of thermoelectric engineering, where I first held the role of Discipline Project Leader in various control and process automation projects and then acquired in 2020 the coordination of the thermoelectric I&C discipline (about twenty units in various Italian and foreign offices: Russia, Spain and Chile).
