From Film School to Film World\" is a development and pitching class that focuses on story & character development, narrative structures, with the goal of giving students the tools to present themselves and their work in a \"real world\" setting after graduation.Responsibilities included- In-depth story structure, narrative and character arc analysis - Overview of storytelling approaches, narrative structures, and how to write in different forms, including traditional 3-act structure, episodic 5-act structure, conventional and unconventional narratives, audio storytelling, prose- How to write a logline, synopsis, outline, treatment, artist/ director statement and put together a deck/ show bible- Discussing Film, TV and Media Production industry structure and practices, artist development resources and opportunities, career strategies and creative practices- Guest Artists and Industry advisors outreach and coordinating- Mentoring students about their projects and their career

Giulia Caruso is the Director of Catalyst, Sundance\'s financing program that has supported award winning independent movies such as THE WITCH, SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, WON\'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR, CRIP CAMP. Prior to joining Catalyst, Giulia built a strong track record as an independent producing discovering new talent, working in Narrative and Non-fiction, both in the US and internationally. She won an Independent Spirit Award & Emmy, and her movies received several awards and nominations all over the world. Excellent communicator & problem-solver, combining a deep understanding of story and narrative structure with a practical love for organization and making things happen.I love telling stories, whatever form they may take. I also love food, drawing and learning what I don’t know (especially with my daughter).
