ABOUT GISELLE GENERAL

I want to have a job where I help people.\" This is a statement I made during my final year of university. Upon graduation and after a few trial-and-error moments that recent graduates typically face, I am currently where I\'m meant to be, as a staff member of a non-profit organization providing a service that vulnerable members of the community cannot afford. My passion is volunteering, and as a result I organize volunteers as my paid job, and I volunteer or donate in various programs as my unpaid vocation. Seeing both perspectives, I learned that many people wanted to help those in need, and well-organized supports have to be in place to support them so clients get the service they need. In volunteer management, there are two customers, the clients and the volunteers. I\'m a big fan of teamwork and enjoys making the most of agency partnerships to help champion our cause, which is Access to Justice for everyone in the community. I wear many hats under my official job title, and assists with other tasks such as marketing and communications, web support, social media management and event planning. Finally I offer my skills to provide translation services and an intersectional context for our clients that originated from the same country as I did, to help us provide better legal service that considers the social and cultural factors in place. On the side I am an abstract artist, a blogger, and a young professional trying to maximize my potential in making the world a better place.
