Dr. Girish Maskeri Rama has over 20 years of experience in applied research and development (R&D) taking ideas from academia and making it work in practice. He enjoys being an intrapreneur creating zero-to-one products in the companies he has worked for. Girish is currently heading the research group - Engineering and Validation of Intelligent Software, responsible for developing tools and techniques to make Agentic AI industry-grade and reliable for use in production systems.Prior to this he was head and architect of the Infosys Assessments Platform which automates various types of coding and technology assessments and in production with 100K + users.Prior to this, Girish was Senior Research Scientist at Infosys Labs. Girish lead a team of researchers in developing novel solutions in the area of machine learning for software maintenance domain, that is transitioned to the Infosys maintenance platform, resulting in 7 granted patents, 10+ publications in leading journals and conferences such as TSE, SPE etc (700+ citations as per google scholar). Prior to Infosys, Girish was Scientist at TCS innovation Lab and lead a team of developers in building the model transformation framework (which is part of the larger Mastercraft suite). He also worked in GUIMOD, which is a tool for modelling the GUI and automatically generating consistent UI screens. He was also the representative to OMG and part of the Precise UML consortium which contributed to UML 2.0 standard. His area of research was meta-modelling, model transformation and code generation from specifications. Girish has published 20+ papers in leading journals and conferences and has 750+ citations (source: google scholar). His work on applying machine learning to software maintenance has been recognised as a seminal paper and won the test-of-time award.
