Led the Virtual Personal Assistant platform team - a successor to SIRI - and delivered several proof of concept systems for many marquee customers in the world. These systems brought together components from several research groups within SRI. Managed the integration of CALO/PAL, an ambitious $33 Million/year DARPA project to create the next generation of personal cognitive assistant that learns and self-improves in the wild. As part of this initiative was responsible for coordinating efforts between twenty-two leading research institutions, universities and commercial companies. Successfully transitioned the technology to the government. The CALO project management team won the DARPA Award for Excellence in 2007. Incubated and transitioned the technology for SRI spin-offs such as Tempo (bought by SalesForce), Kasisto, Social Kinetics, Desti and Trapit.
