ABOUT GIOVANNI CERINO BADONE

With the rank of Captain [NATO - OF 2], Italian Army Reserve Corps, I\'m one of the historians of the Italian Army. From 2016 to 2019 I had been Professor of Military History at the Command for the Officers\' Training and Application School of the Italian Army of Turin (COMFOR-SA). Here I was member of the teachers\' Corp dedicated to the instruction of the Second Lieutenants in the Basic Training Courses and the Captains of the General Staff School. Today my current mission is: • to contribute to the development of agile, dynamic and innovative officers, able to make a critical and creative thinking, for the resolution of problems both in planning and in active military operations, through a coherent Military History education program based on an interdisciplinary approach and on the use of specific case studies; • to devise, to experiment and to develop new teaching tools designed to integrate Military History with other military subjects in order to train, educate and train both soldiers and civilians using history and its heritage (traditions, museums) military fields) in an increasingly effective manner; • to participate in the research and development of the military doctrines and related publications with precise historical information and supported by a valid historical research. • to coordinate research, analysis and teaching in order to make Military History an effective tool for training, doctrine and planning at all levels (Tactical, Operative, Strategic) and at all specialty (Tactics, Logistics, Intelligence, Staff). I am a Military History Scholar. member of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Bari. I set myself the goal of using History, and Military History in particular - an integral part of my teaching - as a tool to convey an interdisciplinary approach to the problems of the present. The monographic parts of my lessons are mainly devoted to the presentation of Military History and the development of combat techniques from the XVI to XX century.
