ABOUT GIOVANNA CALDERON
Giovanna is currently a Senior Program Associate and DOJ Partially Accredited Representative with the Children’s Program at Amica Center for Immigrant Rights. She is also a first-year MPA Candidate in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University. Outside of her coursework, she serves as a staff writer for Policy Perspectives and a Women\'s Leadership Fellow for the 20••••26 cohort. Giovanna graduated from American University\'s College of Arts in Sciences in May 2022 with a Master of Arts in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights and from American University\'s School of Public Affairs, Justice, Law, and Criminology Department in May 2019 with a BA in Law and Society concentrating in Social Sciences. In addition, she received certificates in Politics, Policy, and Law and Advanced Leadership Studies. During her tenure, Giovanna was involved in the Politics, Policy, and Law Scholars Program, Leadership Program, and Phi Alpha Delta. Giovanna\'s research and career interests lie at the nexus of public interest policy focusing on issues in immigration and housing. Giovanna\'s work has largely been on issues relating to homelessness, tenant rights in the District of Columbia, and immigrant rights specifically those of unaccompanied of minors.
