SKILLS
ABOUT GIORGIO MODESTI
With a background in condensed matter physics and a career rooted in advanced imaging technologies, I operate at the intersection of biomedical research, precision oncology, and strategic leadership. My early scientific work combined neutron spectroscopy and Monte Carlo simulations with pioneering studies in single-molecule detection, applying time-resolved confocal and FLIM microscopy to organic and biological systems. This foundation shaped a long professional trajectory in high-end microscopy, including confocal, multiphoton, and time-resolved imaging, within leading life-science companies.Over time, my expertise expanded from instrumentation to the broader ecosystem of cancer research and pathology laboratories, encompassing digital microscopy, digital pathology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), high-content screening, and laboratory automation. Alongside the scientific dimension, I have built a strong track record in sales, product management, and project leadership, coordinating complex implementations of high-value imaging platforms and capital equipment across major hospitals and research institutions in Italy and Europe.I currently serve as Director of Southern Europe at Indivumed Therapeutics, where I lead regional strategy and partnerships with hospitals and cancer centers. My role focuses on enabling precision oncology through access to high-quality, clinically annotated human biospecimens and on contributing to the development of a global multi-omics cancer database supporting target discovery, biomarker validation, and translational research. In parallel, I am Founder and CEO of KRONEMED, a company dedicated to the study and development of interpretative models of cancer. Through KRONEMED, I work on integrating clinical data, pathology, imaging, and molecular evidence into structured frameworks that help make sense of cancer complexity, with the goal of supporting clinical studies, research decision-making, and knowledge translation. My work is driven by a conviction that progress in oncology depends not only on new data, but on better interpretation, integration, and accessibility of evidence—bridging research, clinics, and society.
