As a radio professional, genealogist, proofreader, and firm believer in the Oxford comma, I’ve spent the entirety of my career over performing and continually finding opportunities to assist employers in their success. As of this writing, I’m 61 years old. Prospective employers may see that and quietly move on in their search for the perfect candidate; to those prospective employers, thank you for moving on. I’m not here for you; I’m here for those who keep reading. I’m here for the ones who are actually looking for candidates who make your success their priority. At my age I’m too old to waste time; my time to excel is today. In the 1980s, I was a proofreader during the days before Adobe. As I worked, in order to ensure perfection, I taught myself paste up and then typesetting on the Quadex, Atex, Varityper and CCI systems. This was accomplished without a college degree, and clients included major magazines, the Record of the Bar of the City of New York, and former President Carter. The 1990s were spent co-owning a furniture delivery and warehousing business; I had 44 employees. Still, no college degree. I also had other roles for other companies while also raising three children. From I was a radio professional. I worked in multiple roles including board op, show production, commercial traffic and continuity, and commercial production. That last role included meeting with clients and writing, voicing, and producing award-winning commercials. This particular era lasting a quarter of a century was begun with no experience in radio and no college education; it began with a prank phone call to a new radio program. All of these were begun and executed flawlessly despite my not “checking every box” for a prospective employer. Once I am given a chance, I quickly learn, adapt, and excel. The above was accomplished by a disabled woman, so I’m used to overcoming *any* obstacle in my path to success. Today, I am seeking freelance or part time remote work only; I’m willing to give you the opportunity to work with a driven talent who may not check every box, but will exceed every expectation. Please note that I am not interested in full time, in-person work, but will always be available to help you succeed. I look forward to working toward your success.
