About Ginger Chien

Creatrix at the intersection of intellect and emotion, words and music, and fact and imagination, with communications at the heart of everything I do.I am an electrical engineer with extensive experience in wireless technologies, protocols, networks, requirements and test engineering, security, and quantitative analysis. I work within the AT & T Device Architecture organization where we are responsible for executing on device requirements to meet AT & T\'s broader strategic portfolio and functional goals. I am currently responsible for defining long term technology views, device requirements, and guiding the integration of new products and services into devices. I am a proven rapid learner, having become a subject matter expert on topics as varied as the first mobile browsers, X.509 certificate authentication, and the hardware and color theory behind color displays.I integrate a wide range of intersectional identities into my DEI & B work: I am an Asian transgender woman with intensely contrasting experiences of privilege and marginalization. I am an advocate for and teacher of diversity and emotional intelligence and the collaborative creativity it fuels. I am a fluent storyteller which has allowed me to share tales of life, love and being around the world. I am also a prolific inventor, with over 70 sole and shared patents in areas of business processes, communications, computing, and user interfaces. And finally, I am a musician in an LGBTQ rock band, who has seen the power of shared experiences and authenticity open hearts in the most unexpected places. I integrate all of those identities into informative and inspirational Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging workshops and lectures where I bridge differences by emphasizing empathy, universal human values, and the safety to be vulnerable.
