ABOUT GINA PAPABEIS

I’m an impact-driven documentary producer with a passion for a good story’s ability to improve our world, and am skilled in both making films and making sure they have their intended impact. I\'m currently a Strategic Consultant for the ocean storytelling non-profit SeaLegacy, co-founded by founded by Paul Nicklen, Cristina Mittermeier, and Andy Mann. I\'m also producing the upcoming feature documentary, UNEARTH, the highly anticipated directorial debut of Hunter Nolan. I\'m formerly a Producer & the Interim Editorial Lead at Only One, a storytelling and digital action platform for equitable ocean solutions, where I focused on storytelling strategy and execution tightly aligned with impact opportunities for a global audience. My previous work as a Senior Producer, then Head of Nonfiction/Co-Head of Impact at Sound Off Films centered around non-fiction stories that deepen our understanding of science, nature, women\'s issues, diversity and social justice. Before that, I was a producer focused on production and impact at the Oceanic Preservation Society (OPS), where I worked as impact campaign coordinator on the Oscar-winning film The Cove, Co-Producer of Emmy and Oscar-nominated film Racing Extinction, producer of large-scale visual projection events at the UN, the Empire State Building and the Vatican, and Co-Producer of the culture-shifting film The Game Changers. I’m calm under fire, great at translating creative vision into an actionable plan, and always looking for the third option. I’m also diplomatic, strategic and logical. I have an excellent eye for detail and love brainstorming ideas with a team. Motivated by the knowledge that we’re all connected, I try to see the best in people and appreciate nature as often as I can.
