ABOUT GINA DECAGNA
I’m a passionate leader in the arts and a cultural manager with over 10 years of professional experience across multimedia arts, education, knowledge exchange, and community engagement. My career reflects my commitment to bolstering innovative and inclusive learning environments, delivering impactful artistic and cultural programmes with a uniquely interdisciplinary approach. As the Creative Learning Manager at the Landmark Arts Centre, I design and oversee an expansive range of arts learning opportunities, courses, and events, collaborating with talented artist-educators and community groups to enhance access to creative opportunities and enrich our skills and knowledge using well-tailored tools and resources. I also serve as Artistic Director of Palimpsest Projects CIC, where I lead a public programme that bridges the visual and literary arts through narrative structures – curating exhibitions and events that inspire open dialogue and connection. I’m motivated by the ways that multimedia narratives can facilitate the agency of diverse audiences, moving participants to positions of improved understanding, enhanced wellbeing, or positive social or behavioural change.Highly organised and methodical in my approach, my expertise spans arts leadership, project management, teaching and learning practices, and creative content development. From conceptualising and managing large-scale programmes to creating bespoke publications and educational resources, I thrive on developing initiatives that continually inspire curiosity and deepen understanding.A practising visual artist myself, I hold an MFA Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London and a BA (Honours) in English and Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration, I enjoy activating dynamic spaces where people from all backgrounds can engage and exchange meaningfully.
