Increase student achievement and advance LAUSD’s mission through quality charter school authorization, oversight, and sharing of effective practices of Charter Schools authorized by the LAUSD Board of Education.Key Contributions:Execute authorizing functions, including timely processing of new and renewal charter petitions, material amendments, oversight, and sharing of effective practices. Leadership skills in facilitating groups in instructional improvement, transformational leadership, collaboration, consensus building, and conflict resolution.Organized and facilitated a comprehensive Professional Development Series for all CSD members maximizing the expertise of all team members. Created documented evidence to memorialize the training provided. Successful use of technology to gather information from all CSD members using Survey Monkey to determine appropriate Professional Development topics and disseminated the “Capacity Protocol Toolkit” which leant itself to the calibration of Capacity Interviews across teams. The toolkit included invitation letter, interview questions, PowerPoint Presentation, and a Scoring Sheet.Created a “Directory of Support” to serve as a common contact list for all team members to efficiently identify internal and external personnel to facilitate problem solving for our assigned charter schools. Member of an advisory panel for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing to revise the Teaching Proficiency Expectations (TPE) to align with the Common Core State Standards. Organized and facilitated a professional development for charter leaders “A Session on Teacher Credentialing” upon recognizing the need.
