ABOUT GINA SISSOKO
I’m Dr. Gina Sissoko, a licensed clinical psychologist and NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow at Yale School of Public Health. My work focuses on the mental health of Black women and girls, with an emphasis on colorism, gendered racism, and immigrant well-being.Beyond academia, I translate research into practice. I collaborate with brands, institutions, and communities to develop evidence-based strategies that foster equity, belonging, and well-being. My consulting work spans inclusive campaigns, culturally responsive care, and global mental health initiatives to bridge science with real-world impact.With publications in leading journals and ongoing projects in the U.S, Germany, and Africa, my goal is to advance equity, representation, and mental health on a global scale.Areas of expertise- Colorism, texturism, and representation- Black women’s and girls’ mental health- Culturally responsive and trauma-informed care- Inclusive campaigns in beauty, wellness, and health- Global and transnational consulting
