About Gina Mosca

I became a designer because the built environment affects people in very real ways. Beautiful, functional spaces enhance lives and communities. The challenge of crafting space while reducing environmental footprint and natural resource usage is one that I embrace earnestly and with vigor. The potential of good design to be a force for social justice through a universal, inclusive approach is also tremendously exciting and inspiring.Prior to becoming a designer, I earned a BS and Master of Engineering degrees at Cornell and built a 12 year career as an optical engineer in the aerospace industry. Specifically, I worked on satellite-based telescopes for end users such as the US Air Force and NOAA.

1. Interior Designer, Associate

   Sasaki

   Jul 2019 — Present

   At Sasaki, I work on projects for civic, higher ed, and corporate clients at all phases of design. As a 2022 Sasaki Reasearch grant recipient, I co-led development of our Interiors Embodied Carbon tool, working closely with the Sasaki Strategies team. I continue to explore the topics of embodied carbon, circular economy, and material health and bring my findings to project teams.
