ABOUT GINA MAREE BONFIGLIO-SPEER

ILS is a leadership and strategy development firm that assist individuals, organizations and communities use innovative strategies to optimize opportunities, solve problems before they become persistent, and make significant progress on more daunting challenges. Gina has over 20 years experience working in non-profit, for-profit, and state and federal government organizations. Fifteen of these years she has been in executive or management positions. She has significant experience leading high-performing teams, facilitating group process, and providing training and coaching to a variety of audiences. Gina trained and was a guest faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government on the art and practice of leadership development, has extensive training in leadership coaching, and is certified in coaching with the ESIC. Gina is an Associate at Wichita State University and a Coach and Affiliate Faculty member for the Kansas Leadership Center. Gina is a licensed clinical social worker and the cofounder of the Trauma Healing and Recovery Institute (THRIVE). Gina is the former Vice President for Health Policy at the KHI and lead the development and implementation of the Kansas Legislative Health Academy, a one-of-a-kind program that brought legislators from across the political spectrum together to engage in meaningful dialogue and explore the use of evidence-based information, adaptive leadership, systems thinking, and an ethics framework to solve complex health policy challenges. For five years, Gina served as the Deputy Regional Inspector General for the Office of Evaluation and Inspection in the US HHS. During her tenure, she opened a Medicaid Branch in Washington D.C. and served as the Acting Director. Gina led national strategy development committees, and trained on leading change.
