Following acquisition of TNT Express, I was promoted to this new role to integrate two previous change and release teams into a unified function servicing the UK and Europe. This included coaching and empowering a team of 10 across x5 workstreams including change, release, patching, security and vulnerability, tooling, migration and automation.I introduced SAFe and DevSecOps frameworks, agile practices and automation tools within an environment of continuous improvement. Providing SAFe agile coaching to the team, I encouraged individual professional development to increase team capability and capacity. I ensured rigorous monitoring of third-party vendor performance with KPIs and CPIs to provide clarity and visibility in performance and automated the assignment of change managers to improve the customer experience. A new traffic light-based dashboard encouraged early activation that reduced the number of open backlog changes from to c200 within the first 3 months.Bringing the previously outsourced migration management function in-house, automating processes and utilising existing resource saved the company £multi-million a year in costs. I also reduced external project management costs in new server builds through a new process utilising Service Now tool. Following analysis of deployment costs, I switched to a new deployment tool that significantly reduced licensing costs with zero impact on performance and increased release velocity within the DevOps pipeline.In 2021 I won 5 Star FedEx Award, the highest award bestowed by FedEx, for personal performance truly beyond expectations and that significantly impacted on company performance.
