About Gil Morgan

Gil Morgan co-founded Propeller Investments, a private equity firm focused on aerospace and transportation in 2008. His aviation and aerospace experience is broad and extensive with a career spanning more than 40 years serving as CEO of Vortex Control Technologies (VCT), Executive Vice President of Propeller Airports, President & Chief Operating Officer of World Airways, Chief Operations Officer of Eos Airlines, and other various leadership positions in corporate planning, operations, engineering, finance, and corporate real estate at ValuJet, AirTran, Delta Air Lines and Southern Airways. He is currently serving as CEO of VCT a company specializing in designing aircraft drag reduction devices and associated fuel efficiency measurement technologies.Gil’s experience spans the spectrum of airline companies including a major international network airline, a boutique “life-style” all business class international air carrier, a world-wide passenger and cargo charter airline, top secret military charter operations, a low-cost airline startup, a government subsidized U.S. local service air carrier and an airline undergoing bankruptcy. At Delta Air Lines, Gil was on the team that started the fleet planning and corporate planning departments and led the airport properties negotiations with the City of Atlanta leading to the ATL fifth runway and the Concourse E FIS facility. At ValuJet he was part of the team that created the lowest cost structure of any U.S. airline startup resulting in a gross profit margin of 32% and net profit margin of 28%. He led the FAA recertification of ValuJet and project managed its merger with AirTran. At World Airways he and his team expanded the fleet by fifty percent, while leading the airline back to profitability and operational excellence. At Eos Airlines he and his team achieved customer service ratings that, according to ZAGAT, were equivalent to Singapore Airlines and beyond that ever achieved by any U.S. airline. Eos achieved a Net Promoter Score of 85%; a score higher than brands such as The Four Seasons Hotels, Ritz Carlton and Harley Davidson. As CEO of VCT he successfully concluded business deals with Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, Aviation Partners Boeing, Lufthansa Technik, the USAF, RAAF and RCAF. As EVP of Propeller Airports he led the initial startup of the Paine Field Passenger Terminal in Everett, WA.A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with Highest Honors, Gil earned a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and later completed an MBA at Georgia State University with a concentration in finance.
