ABOUT GILLIAN JOSE-RIZ
Hello! I’ve spent the past 10 years designing and executing people strategy for startups and larger organizations. I’m driven by working with leaders who care for their community and teams. I\'m at my best when I’m building. When designing each stage of the employee experience, I partner with leaders to answer, “How will this help us reach our goals?” and “Are we taking an ethical approach that reflects our values?”Although I’ve built everything from the HR tech stack to handbooks to onboarding and hiring to help organizations scale, I specialize in systems that interweave employee and company growth. This includes compensation, career paths, performance, and organizational design. As part of my HR practice, I share knowledge and discuss the future of work in several online communities, including the People People Group and People Stories. I also serve as an ambassador for Oyster’s People Builders community. Outside work, I enjoy martial arts, strength training, yoga, cooking, travelling, and reading. I’m always looking for ways to support causes I care about, including mental wellbeing, education, gender equity, and environmental sustainability.
