Programme Manager for the Supplier Development Programme.In Scotland, the Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is the foremost independent market leader for raising visibility of contract opportunities, key projects and Scottish Government key policies related to the tender process whilst delivering a full supplier engagement service. Led by all 32 Scottish local authorities, SDP supports Scottish SMEs, social enterprises and the third sector to learn how to supply goods and services to SDP membership organisations as well as the wider public sector, for contracts worth £13.3m annually. SDP also organises the largest free procurement event in Scotland: Meet the Buyer, as well as dedicated regional events like Meet the Buyer North and Meet the Buyer South, and supports local Meet the Buyer and Meet the Contractor events on a regular basis. SDP plays an important dual – and sometimes, intermediary – role, by working strategically with member organisations on the buyer side to consider how procurement activity can be better used to support local economic activity at the outset through early engagement with the supply base. SDP’s key objectives are to:• Raise awareness of opportunities and successes arising from public sector spend, including supply chain opportunities and community benefits;• Improve the tender readiness of local suppliers through early intervention and early engagement;• Provide ‘live’ tender training and support led by expert trainers through face-to-face or webinar mediums, or ‘on-demand’ training via e-Learning;• Support our member organisations to meet the Sustainable Procurement Duty; and• Promote links and integrate with other government business support services.SDP is the premier free programme that provides expert support in all aspects of tendering to SMEs, third sector and supported businesses based in Scotland.
