Urban Planning and Design Expert | Strategic Leader in Place-Based Innovation | Advocate for Human-Centred, Sustainable CitiesWith over 25 years of experience, I am a chartered urban planner and designer dedicated to shaping places that are vibrant, inclusive, and resilient. At Architecture and Design Scotland, I lead nationally significant initiatives that engage all local authorities across the country, co-developing innovative design and planning programmes that shape policy, guide investment, and transform practice, while championing cross-sector collaboration and continuous learning.My approach is grounded in design thinking and driven by the belief that great places are built around people. Recognising the profound impact of the built environment on daily life, I work to create settings where streets foster connection, neighbourhoods nurture belonging, and communities are empowered to shape their own futures.As a strategic thinker and skilled communicator, I thrive on solving complex challenges collaboratively. I bring people together across sectors and disciplines to address some of the world’s most pressing sustainability issues locally. I care deeply about the built environment and I am committed to reshaping how it is understood—from policy frameworks to public perception—through a data-informed and equity-focused lens.Previously, I played a pivotal role in the award-winning regeneration of Glasgow city centre, helping to drive forward strategies that set new benchmarks for urban transformation in Scotland.
