ABOUT GILLIAN ANDERSON

After graduating with a MA (Hons) in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Aberdeen I joined Ernst & Young Aberdeen as part of their graduate intake. I qualified as a CA in 2010 and became an audit manager in 2012 after five years with EY. My portfolio in Aberdeen included clients from the oil and gas industry including oilfield services, upstream oil and gas and manufacturing. During my time with EY Aberdeen I gained a significant amount of technical experience particularly under IFRS but also under UK GAAP, US GAAP and SOX procedures. In July 2013, I transferred to EY Houston on a permanent basis and continue to serve clients of a variety of sizes (private groups to global SEC registered public clients) primarily based in the oil and gas industry. The move has allowed me to increase my exposure to global clients, internal controls over financial reporting requirements and SEC and PCAOB regulations. I was promoted to senior manager in 2015. In July 2021, I joined MRC Global as their Chief Accounting Officer. I lead more than 40 team members across corporate accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, freight and cash application.I am a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.
