ABOUT GILLES MINGASSON
I began my career working as a photojournalist, traveling extensively for international magazines, commercial clients, and National Geographic Books. After spending six month cycling kms across Russia and Siberia to document a changing country, I was hired by Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, and ABC to photograph adventure shows and documentaries. I fell in love with set photography, and joined IATSE to work on features and tv series. Some of my film credits include Rodrigo Garcia\'s \"Raymond & Ray\"(Apple TV+), with Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke,\"Four Good Days\", starring Glenn Close and Mila Kunis, and \"Last Days in the Desert\", starring Ewan McGregor with cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki, as well as \"Wakefield\"(Jennifer Garner, Bryan Cranston), and the Netflix Sundance drama \"To The Bone\"(Keanu Reeves, Lily Collins). I also shoots stills for television series, as well as key art for films and tv series. Set photography clients include: Apple, Netflix, ABC, HBO, Hulu, Mockinbird Pictures, Indigenous Media, Lionsgate, Freeform, Disney +, NBC, WB-Discovery, Smuggler, The Travel Channel, BBC America, BBC Worlwide, The Food Network. When not on assignment, I works on personal projects. My pictures of an Eskimo village threatened by climate change were featured at the ICP in New York, and exhibited in museums in the U.S. and Europe. A photo essay on Latinos in the U.S. won an American Photography Award. I am currently working on a personal project in Tokyo when time allows.
