Since it was founded in 2008, Par Equity has invested £146m across 77 companies, leveraging a further £236m of capital from third party investors. Par Equity’s investment thesis is to combine the professionalism and rigour of a venture capital manager with the skills and expertise of a broad base of individual investors who can add value throughout the investment life cycle. This investment approach has produced strong and consistent returns across 28 realisations to date.Par Equity are expanding their presence into the North of England, with Yorkshire and Humber their preliminary focus, and offices opening in both Leeds and Sheffield. The expansion will see Par Equity further focus its offering in the region, providing greater funding and scaling opportunities to Yorkshire’s and the Northern regions, most impressive and impactful startups and scaleups. I will be leading the expansion of Par into the Yorkshire and Humber technology ecosystem and then into the other Northern regions. I have been involved in startups and scaleups for over a decade, and have seen first hand, all the challenges this region faces, in addition to the opportunities and developments that have arisen over that time. This is a very exciting period for the region. It is still underserved from a funding perspective, but with Par Equity now firmly embedded into the region, this is where we can make a big impact.
