WORK HISTORY
Manager, Sre @Sony Interactive Entertainment
Berlin, DE
SRE is a global team of 40+ people across the EU, US, and Australia. Based in Berlin, where a 1/3 of the team is, I rebuilt and directly managed the entire local team for a significant period, hiring half its members and fostering a strong, inclusive culture. I also facilitated the smooth transition of a Senior Manager to an IC role, taking over his reports in the process, currently with direct reports in Germany and US.TechOps drives the future of gaming through cutting-edge technology, ensuring that PlayStation’s millions of users are served with a seamless, high-quality Cloud Streaming experience. My team owns the HA of infrastructure, distributed storage, CDNs, edge computing, broadcasting, streaming, data engineering/pipeline, and observability, all operating at a global scale while maintaining high availability in a follow the sun approach.Beyond my core leadership responsibilities, I served as the Reliability Lead for a multi-year data center and platform migration, ensuring resilience and scalability. As a Lead for the Apprentice Program in Berlin, I help underrepresented groups start their careers in tech actively hiring and mentoring one myself and overseeing our office, organising job fair participation and speaking in public. Passionate about well-being and inclusion, I organised the Berlin Run & Walk for Mental Health Awareness, strengthening community engagement and driving a psychologically safe space.I streamlined the leadership backlog, improving prioritisation and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance cross-functional collaboration and decision-making. Committed to mentorship and career growth, I’ve guided engineers and non-engineers, managed performance, and created tailored career plans. I contributed to defining the career path framework up to Senior Director, standardised hiring and onboarding across geographies, improved incident and change management, and OKRs. I also encouraged OSS contributions and created internal trainings.

ABOUT GILBERTO MÜLLER
I build engineering organizations that can handle pressure, deliver at scale and outlast disruption. At Sony Interactive Entertainment, I rebuilt the SRE function in Berlin and now lead engineers and teams across Germany and the United States that keep PlayStation services online through major platform and data center shifts and issues. At Metro Digital, I was responsible for 65 engineers inside the technology group from METRO AG and modernized both delivery and culture while the company navigated a complex business transition of 700M.My earlier career was defined by stepping into instability and fixing what was broken. At Kreditech, I took ownership without waiting for permission, stabilized operations and drove major cost reductions in an environment that demanded speed and precision. Roles across Mastercard, Wipro and Logic gave me exposure to regulated, global and high-stakes systems and teams, shaping how I lead today.I work across languages and cultures, fluent in English, German, Spanish and Portuguese, and bring experience managing distributed, cross-regional teams. I focus on performance, accountability and growth. I create teams that move with intent, solve hard problems and do not collapse under stress. The systems that they build, work alike. I invest in people and structure because reliability is not just an engineering outcome, it is a leadership choice.
