ABOUT CARRIE GILBERT

My career in the scientific and pharmaceutical industry has been in the laboratory, as a team leader and now in Quality Assurance. There are three main areas that I strive to be the best in- Taking a risk based approach to QA and clinical trials (focusing on the things that matter)- Identifying and driving improvements- Team leadership and mentorship During my time at GW in the QA department I have found my passion for building quality into clinical trials and identifying improvements through auditing and working with the clinical teams, all of the time putting the patient first. Although I maintain my QA independence I work with colleagues and auditees as a team player in order to ensure clinical studies are successful and compliant with GCP.During my 6 years at Abcam as a team leader I really enjoyed building a team who consistently met targets. I inspired and developed teams and people to achieve objectives. Seeing teams working together and individuals fulfilling their true potential really motivates me.In my career I would like to continue to develop my own skills and just as importantly enable others to do the same.
